Trainee Review Programs (TRPs)

Through the work of the Canadian Cardiovascular Society (CCS) Trainee Committee, CCS trainees identified the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC) examination preparation as a critical milestone in the transition from “school to work”. Hence the CCS/CCSA Canadian Cardiovascular Society Academy Trainee
Review Programs (TRPs) were established.

Program Benefits

The TRPs provide trainees with realistic exposure to the examination process and offer an opportunity for feedback from faculty. It places their knowledge and exam writing skills to the test and provides them with an overview of all aspects of the exam. In addition, they have the opportunity to network with program faculty and fellow trainees from across Canada.

Upcoming TRPs

  • Adult Cardiology TRP (AC TRP)
  • Cardiac Surgery TRP
  • Pediatric Cardiology (PC TRP)

CS TRP 2020

The 2020 Cardiac Surgery TRP (CS TRP) chaired by Dr. Jessica Forcillo was held on February 7-8 in Montreal at the Delta Hotel by Marriott. It was a huge success and we want to thank the outstanding faculty and all the trainees who participated!

“Excellent sessions, very fast pace. Great review of relevant papers. Appreciate the written step by step TAVR “recipe”. Realistic oral exam questions and setting. Would recommend for all PGY 5/6 residents.
