'Have a Heart' Bursary Program

The 'Have a Heart' Bursary program is a travel bursary program designed to introduce promising young Canadian medical students, post-graduate trainees, and basic scientists-in-training to the cardiovascular field in Canada. This program was initiated in 2002, when six recipients were selected from a national field of applicants to attend the Canadian Cardiovascular Congress (CCC), the largest medical conference in Canada. The Canadian Cardiovascular Congress allows bursary winners to interact with cardiovascular professionals across the cardiovascular spectrum and to experience the science first hand.

Since its inception in 2002, the 'Have a Heart' Bursary Program has funded a total of 150 young individuals.
