Canadian Nuclear Cardiology Society

WELCOME MESSAGE

Dear Colleague:At the CNCS Annual General Meeting which took place in Toronto last October, the members of the Canadian Nuclear Cardiology Society (CNCS)approved the dissolution of the Canadian Society of Nuclear Cardiology (CNCS) and the transfer of its assets to the recently created Canadian Society of Cardiovascular Nuclear and CT Imaging(CSCNCTI). This new Society will continue the work of CNCS with a broader mandate which will include working with other societies representing imaging modalities such as the Canadian Society of Echocardiography and Canadian Society of Magnetic Resonance Imaging on issues of mutual interest.

As an identified past member of CNCS, you will have noticed that membership renewals have been sent to you from This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. It is the first year that the Canadian Society of Cardiovascular Nuclear and CT Imaging (formerly CNCS) is charging membership dues and it our hope that you will renew your membership and encourage your colleagues to join the growing number of members. If you are already a member of the Canadian Cardiovascular Society, you will be able to renew your CSCNCTI membership at the same time.

Our plans for 2016 include:

  • Finding members interested in preparing a Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada AFC diploma program in multimodality cardiacimaging (Nuclear Cardiology/PET and Cardiac CT +/-CMR) which will require negotiation with Radiology, and working with the CCS affiliate Society for CMR. It will also require discussion with the CCS affiliate society for Echocardiography since there are common elements of training and fellows
    may want dual certification.
  • Holding the annual Canadian C2 Cardiology Resident Cardiac Imaging Training Program in Ottawa.
  • The Annual Robbie Burns Memorial Lecture at CCC 2016 in Montreal.

These are exciting timesfor our new Society, be part of it by renewing your commitment. If you have any questions or wish to be involved email me at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. I look forward to your involvement in coming year.
