CCS Recognition Awards

Each year, the CCS recognizes the outstanding achievements of individual Canadians and Canadian organizations that contribute to cardiovascular health and care. The annual CCS Awards give members the opportunity to recognize current and future leaders in various areas of cardiovascular medicine.

CCS Research Awards

The Canadian Cardiovascular Society (CCS) strives to support members and the broader cardiovascular healthcare community. In light of the growing burden of atrial fibrillation (AF), in tandem with scarcity of research funding for clinician scientists, the CCS formed a unique partnership to address these areas of need.

Through a partnership between the CCS and the Bristol-Myers Squibb/Pfizer Alliance, the CCS launched the Atrial Fibrillation Research Award. Since 2015, three awards of up to $100,000 have been offered annually to CCS members who are clinician scientists working in the field of AF. Through this unique program, the CCS hopes to support members, health research in Canada, and Canadians affected by AF.

Three awards of $100,000 were granted in 2015 and 2016 through a peer-reviewed funding competition. The CCS and the Bristol-Myers Squibb/Pfizer Alliance are pleased to run the competition again in 2017.
